Hurricane Ike, another storm, after another storm, after another storm

Man is the coast getting hammered. I have counted 6 hurricane's and tropical storms that have developed. So far, they are Fay, Gustav, Hanna, Ike, Josephine, and Karina. They have not all reached the United States, but WoW what a nightmare! The ones who have reached the US have created havoc, and lots of destruction. Tons of people are evacuated too. This has to really play havoc with peoples lives. How do you pay bills, make money, or feed your kids when you can't work or go home? My thoughts and prayers are with everyone going through this. Here in Kansas we get tornadoes, but so far (knock on wood) nothing like this. All you can do is hunker down and hope for the best.

I actually am pretty excited about Ike coming towards the Texas Coast. We are in a major drought and could use the rain.....just not the damage that comes with it.

I am so glad I don't live on the coast anymore. But like you I am in tornado alley. At least with a hurricane you know it is coming!! I have a friend in Concordia Kansas and I remember being there when we were teenagers an we were walking downtown and the sirens went off. I never knew I could run so fast. I was terrified-it was my first experience with tornadoes.
